Crafty Batik

The Batik workshop introduces textiles, the use of colour and texture to those taking part. The imagery used can be chosen by yourselves.

Individual batik work can be sewn together to form a patchwork for hanging, or the artworks can be kept by the children who created them.

This workshop makes traditional techniques more accessible; we use flour and water paste to create the batik- because there is no hot wax involved this workshop is available to all age groups.

Embroidery and stitch work can be a valuable extension to compliment the patterns created by the batik.
